AN OVERVIEW OF THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY

     Known as one of 3 regional universities of Vietnam, Thai Nguyen University (TNU) is a multi-disciplinary university which offers both vocational and higher education for the northern mountainous and midland provinces in Vietnam.TNU was established with the aim to provide the northern mountainous and midland provinces with highly qualified human resources in science and technology as well as to transfer technologies to those provinces.
Currently TNU offers 101 disciplines for undergraduates, 38 for master candidates, and 18 for Ph.D candidates. In terms of student population, TNU has nearly 70,000 undergraduates and graduates, 60% of which are full time learners. TNU has about 3,500 staffs and more than 2,000 of them are teaching faculties. Among teaching faculties, there are nearly 250 doctors (including 52 Professors and Associate Professors), 1,000 Masters and fulltime teaching staffs.
